Pastor Chris Kennedy of Community Worship Church Houston delivered a powerful, Spirit-led message at the January 10th Men in Christ Global Ministries Houston Men’s Breakfast. Our monthly men’s breakfast in Houston is centered on Christian men’s fellowship, discipleship, and Freedom through Fellowship. The MIC Houston men’s breakfast in Houston, Texas brought together men seeking spiritual growth, biblical teaching, and authentic brotherhood in Christ.

Drawing from the story of Gideon in the book of Judges, Pastor Chris reminded the men in attendance that, like Gideon’s army, each of us goes into life carrying a torch, a clay jar, and a trumpet. The clay jar represents us; the fragile vessels God chooses to use. The torch symbolizes the Holy Spirit, whose light dwells within every believer, and the trumpet represents praise and worship. Pastor Chris explained that there are seasons when the light is covered, but when the time comes, God calls us to break the jar, release the light of Christ, and boldly lift our voices in praise.

Pastor Chris also emphasized a core principle of Men in Christ Global Ministries; men are not called to fight alone. Just as Gideon went into battle with his brothers, Christian men are called into biblical brotherhood, standing together in faith, accountability, prayer, and spiritual warfare. This truth reflects the heart of our men’s discipleship programs, including our weekly online meetings: “Iron Sharpens Iron” and our “Prayer and Care” meeting, where men walk alongside one another in encouragement, healing, and growth.

The message deeply moved those in attendance. Several men came forward for prayer, spiritual support, and encouragement. The morning concluded with communion and Christian fellowship, marking a meaningful time of unity and connection. Moments like these reflect our mission to build Christ-centered brotherhood and expand Men in Christ Global Ministries not only in Houston, Texas and Taipei, Taiwan, but soon to expand further into Asia and beyond.

At the heart of everything we do is our calling: Freedom Through Fellowship—men growing together, standing together, and walking in freedom through Jesus Christ.
